Gold Scales
This concept was created in Peru, however, it wasn’t realized there. And I’m happy that it was like that, because the concept nested in my brain improving it, also here in Montreal I have have an appropriate studio to make true this photoshoot.
The central idea was to have a model with pieces of metallic paper either gold and / or silver on her body. The metallic paper is like scales on the skin, which represents that armor that we often create in front of others, although it may look very beautiful, it is not always good to wear it every day. Also, it is that hardness in which we often hide our person, our feelings, our dreams, so no one else detects them at first sight. It's like basically a beautiful cape that we create to be acepted by others, beautiful and shiny, but that dulls our essence.
I combine a gold strong makeup look to match it with the concept and I used a gold hair gel product to die the first part of the hair.
For the lighting set, I used two soft boxes and a full-length bouncer. As an experiment in the last photographs, I add a flash with a purple gel directly towards the model to tint the skin and the other two flashes were turned off.
Este concepto fue creado en Perú, sin embargo, no se llegó a realizar allá. Y son en estos momentos donde me alegra que este concepto haya anidado en mi cerebro y haya esperado tener un estudio apropiado para realizar las fotografías.
La idea central era tener a una modelo con retazos de papel metálico ya sea dorado y/o plateado. El papel pegado como escamas en la piel representa esa coraza que muchas veces creamos ante los demás que aunque puede verse muy bello no siempre es bueno portarlo todos los días. Es esa dureza en la que muchas veces ocultamos nuestra persona, nuestros sentimientos, nuestros sueños, para que nadie más los detecte a primera vista. Es como básicamente una capa hermosa que creamos para gustarles a los demás, hermosa y brillante pero que opaca nuestra esencia.
Lo combine con un maquillaje también en dorados para que vaya acorde, al igual que un producto dorado para el cabello.
Para la iluminación se utilizaron dos soft boxes y un rebotador de cuerpo entero. Como experimento en las últimas fotografías se agregó un flash con un gel morado directo hacia la modelo para teñir la piel y se eliminaron los otros dos flashes.
