Monachopsis
The exact definition of the title is “the subtle but persistent feeling of being out of place”, a word that comes from the Greek, monachus (alone) + opsis (vision).
This project took as a reference the picture of the photographer Todd Hido. I was captivated by the images in which the subject showed neither joy nor provocation.
The body conveyed little, emotionally restrained, often alone in a space that felt too large for it. The posture of each figure expressed isolation, and the distinctive color palette of the photographs added a sense of coldness and sadness to the atmosphere.
La difinición exacta del título es “la sensación sutil pero persistente de estar fuera de lugar”, palabra que proviene del griego monachus (sola) + opsis (visión).
Este proyecto tomó como referencia la obra del fotógrafo Todd Hido. Me cautivaron las imágenes en las que el sujeto no mostraba ni alegría ni provocación.
El cuerpo transmitía poco, emocionalmente contenido, a menudo solo en un espacio que parecía demasiado grande para él. La postura de cada figura expresaba aislamiento, y la peculiar paleta de colores de las fotografías añadía una sensación de frialdad y tristeza a la atmósfera.
